Shop to Shore Carpentry

We are a family-run boat yard specializing in wooden boat repair and restorations. In the heart of mid-coast Maine, 

our crew is led by the founder, president, acclaimed woodworker and expert carpenter, Rene J. Goulette. He is assisted by his daughter and his niece who have mastered painting, varnishing and providing maintenance needs for our customers. The rest of the company members are - the wife (secretary/part-time accountant) and Zucchini the cat. They provide treats, and sideline support from the house next door.

Rene has been working in the carpentry service industries for almost 50 years. He apprenticed and worked in a number of 

prestigious boat yards, owned a house restoration business, and was the lead finish carpenter for a custom lobster pleasure boat .

In 2005, he began Shop to Shore Carpentry.

We built a second shop, expanded storage capacity, and Rene has become known as 'the boat guy'.
